Welcome to our March newsletter. And importantly, I would like to extend a special welcome to all the new families who have joined the Highwood Nursery community over the last month.
It has been lovely to see plenty of winter sunshine recently, which has enabled the children to enjoy much more sustained outdoor play opportunities.
Also, we have received lots of positive feedback from parents about the daily newsfeed and updates on Famly. Needless to say, we are delighted to know you enjoy being kept up-to-date with all the stimulating activities enjoyed by the children.
Please be reminded that if you need to contact the Nursery, you can message your child’s room directly through the Famly app.
This month’s major staff development is that Louise has now started her maternity leave. Naturally, we wish her all the best. Please be assured that you can now contact Sarah, Kirsten and Claire with any office enquiries.
As always, please be reminded to update us on any changes to your contact details, as well as information about any holidays you have booked for 2023.
Kindest regards,
Sarah Bower
Nursery Manager
September 2023 school starters
Children starting school in September 2023 are booked to attend nursery up until 31 August. If your child is term-time-only at nursery, then their last day will be 21 July.
Funding from September 2023
If your child is due to turn two or three years-old between April and August, they may be eligible for funding from September. If you are eligible and would like to use your funded hours to book extra hours or sessions, please email us with full details. We will more than happy to check availability. You can check your eligibility by clicking here
Graduation photos
Professional photographers will visit the Nursery on Friday 26 May to take group and individual photos of children leaving us to attend school. If your child does not usually attend on a Friday, you will still be able to book time slots for that morning. Consent and booking forms will be sent out nearer the time.
Early/late drop-offs and pick-ups
Please be reminded that children should not be dropped-off early or picked-up late. This could lead to non-compliance with our legally-binding staff ratio obligations, which is a serious Ofsted issue. If you require an earlier start or finish time, please tell us well in advance. We understand that there may be situations that arise suddenly, delaying you by five or ten minutes. In such circumstances, please let us know as soon as possible by messaging us on Famly. This will give us sufficient time to ensure the correct staff ratios are maintained.
Recipe of the Month
